Activities at Home

By on

Last Summer camp video is now on the media page.

During this difficult time, the Group has been looking at ways to continue Scouting at home. Scouts, Cubs and Beavers have a go at some of theses activities. We have also included details below about our online badge system which, get your parents to check on OSM what you need to do and you can gain those badges very quickly indeed.

Some Activities to try at Home

  • Beavers Cubs or Scouts Wild at Home, click here for ways to explore wildlife in your garden and locally with the Herts and Middlesex Wildlife trust.
  • Scouts -Plan a long walk and use a map and compass , use streetmap.co.uk to get OS maps you can download. OS map symbols from OS website. Why not take your family on footpaths across the fields to N Mymms church and back.
  • Scouts or Cubs – Build a fire using one match firelighters not allowed, can you do it without paper? (with adult supervision!), Facebook or email a photo.
  • Beavers cubs and scouts – bake some cakes and email a photo or post on group Facebook page.

Badges@Home

During this extraordinary time, we have partnered with Basingstoke East Scouts to provide an online means of completing badges at home! Simply click on Beavers, Cubs or Scout badges below and you will be taken to the available badges to complete at home. When you send your evidence e.g. a photograph using the system, make sure you select 5th Potters Bar Scout Group from the drop-down menu! The evidence will go direct to your leaders who will award the badge.
